The new WMF Stepped Wok is a versatile stovetop pan that is really an all purpose pan for not just Asian style foods but all searing, sautéing and steaming applications. The Stepped Wok allows a cook to grill, sear and caramelize foods quickly on the bottom and then move the foods to a higher shelf in the pan to stay warm as other ingredients are seared on the bottom or steamed on the steaming rack.

The Stepped Wok is truly a unique shape designed to help the American cook keep food moving - sautéing, searing, warming and steaming. The TransTherm® universal base accommodates both cooking on gas and electric stoves. Heat is concentrated at the center for quick, flavorful searing. The sides step up to a shelf where foods can be moved to keep warm. The steamer fits snugly into the wok and is used to prepare foods that benefit from moist heat retaining flavor, color and texture. Chicken, couscous, fish, shrimp, rice and vegetables steam beautifully on the steaming rack. Steaming can be done while other foods sear and caramelize on the bottom of the wok or warm on the shelf.

The WMF 14.5-inch diameter Stepped Wok is made of 18/10 stainless steel and includes a heat resistant glass lid. Since the interior is stainless steel, ingredients won't interact with the pan. The side handles on the wok make it easy to carry it to the table as a serving vessel.
